I offer in-person therapy in Bay Park (overlooking Mission Bay) as well as virtual sessions. I operate from a biopsychosocial spiritual model and offer faith-based counseling as desired. Formally trained with the most acute populations, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapies (including EMDR), & play-based and Sand Tray Therapy. If talk therapy is uncomfortable, I offer creative approaches. I teach how to tolerate distress, practice self-respect, and add pleasure back into life in order to stabilize mood, as well as a mind-body connection to help you listen to your body when it is talking to you (i.e. having symptoms). I am solution-focused, and aim to be efficient with our time together so that you can return to the things you love.
There is nothing more important than strengthening family relationships in the lives of youth. I use a Structural Family Therapy approach that incorporates DBT principles. My goal is for you to feel seen and heard while you develop safe communication strategies. We often communicate with unhelpful behavior, and I can help interrupt and replace those painful patterns. As parents, we are not designed to also be clinicians and understand and fix the crises that mental illness can create. It is my job to guide you toward wellness, and I love my job!
I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) with years of experience leading residential and intensive outpatient eating disorder programs. Together, we will rehabilitate behaviors, find new ways of achieving important needs, implement a recovery mindset and healthy emotional coping, learn embodiment practices and body positivity, and define a life worth living. I apply similar recovery principles to treat other addictions including self-injury and substance use. I also offer First Fruits Recovery, a faith-based eating disorder recovery group grounded in the most current eating disorder treatments.

"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
